Meet Miguel E. Corominas

Major General Pilot Francisco Miguel Corominas Sánchez FARD entered the Dominican Republic Air Force in 1981, being one of the first class of graduates from the General Pilot Brigade Air Academy Frank Féliz Miranda.

Graduated as an Aviator Pilot in 1985. In 1987 he graduated as a Helicopter Pilot. In 1989 he was certified as the third test pilot (TestPilot) of the Dominican Republic Air Force in Fort Eustis, Virginia USA.

He was a Helicopter Pilot Instructor invited by the North American Army US ARMY, to the world's largest training center for helicopter pilots, Fort Rucker, Alabama USA, serving as Deputy Battalion Commander of the School of the Americas 1998-2000.

Designated Presidential Pilot period 2000-2004.

Member of the first class of graduates of the Course for Military Attachés taught by the Diplomatic School of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Graduated from the 16th Defense and Diplomacy Course for Defense Attachés at the Geneva Center for Security Policy, Switzerland (GCSP) in March 2020.

He performed diplomatic functions in the Dominican Embassies as Defense, Military, Naval, Air, and Police Attaché in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, in Caracas 2010 / 2011, in the Republic of Colombia, Bogotá 2011-2012, in France, Paris, and concurrently in Italy 2015 / 2020.

He speaks fluently Spanish, English, French and Italian.

He Held the Following Important Functions:

• General Director of the Military Cartographic Institute
  
  
• Director of the Training School of the *National Research Directorate (DNI)
  
  
• In charge of the Intelligence Department of the Specialized Civil Aviation Security Corps (CESAC)
  
  
• Director of Intelligence of the Dominican Republic Air Force (FARD) A-2
  
  
• General Director of Promotion of Border Communities
  
  
• Executive Director of the Superintendency of Surveillance and Private Security (SVSP), which was the last position held after 42 years of uninterrupted service in the Armed Forces of the Dominican Republic, of which he held the rank of Pilot Brigadier General for 20 years, being promoted to the rank of Major General Pilot and placed in the honorable position of retirement in February 2023.
